ASSEMBLAGE

Cigar Boxes

Typically a box is something that encloses and protects something.  It can also be a curiosity, discovery or a surprise.  Using cigar boxes which I paint, patina and manipulate; I create the later using found objects and other things of interest.

Souvenirs

When I travel, I pick up detritus and anything that looks interesting, along the way.  I also travel with a small pair of wire cutters, needle nose pliers, glue, tape, a stapler and a few loops of wire.  At the end of the day, I assemble what I found into what I call a Souvenir.

Springs 'N Things

Among other stuff my Dad left behind, when he passed away, were boxes of keys, string, grommets and springs.  From these boxes of everyday things, I make small sculptures.  I call them ‘Springs & Things’.
